Perfect weather for Igloo building

igloo2

Here in Sunny Aldershot weve had over 20cm of snow (not a problem when you live 30 seconds away from work). With most of the company stuck at home the brave remaining staff decided to construct this rather awesome Igloo.

Its become somewhat of a tourist attraction around here and so far its been able to house a family of four.

for a video of our igloo antics complete with hoff/pingu music please go here.

and heres a 360 tour

Virtual polystyrene rocketships

I’ve been playing an unhealthy amount of Little Big planet this Christmas. For those of you unware of the brilliance that is little big planet, its basicly a simple mario style platformer that lets you build your own levels out of virtual cardboard and then share them online. Infact the only thing I don’t like about little big planet is Stephen ruddy Fry chipping in every 30 seconds to tell me how wonderfull it is i pressed that button and yaadda yaadda yadda…..

There’s been quite a few games with level editors in the past most notably Timesplitters (from the sadly departed Free Radical) but they often require a little bit of game design know how to make anything that doesnt resemble a cheap 90′s knock off of doom.

A simular game called blast works was released on the Wii last year. Blast works allows you to create your very own gradius or R-Type using a simple level designer. I managed to pick it up for a tenner before christmas so if platforming isnt your thing I highly recomend it.

Anyway im off to make rocket ships out of polystyrine.
